A majority of high school students feel unprepared when it comes to making decisions around college and career. Students often feel overwhelmed by feelings of stress, apprehension and dread, and many parents feel the weight of that stress as well. I created this program with this problem in mind. The goal of this program is to help students feel ready for their next steps through exploration and preparation.
The more we understand ourselves, the more clarity there will be. I help students learn about their giftings, aptitudes, and interests to help them feel confident about applying to a college that will align best with who they are. Additionally, I help them communicate their unique character and their accomplishments through college essays and a resume.
College prep is more than your SAT and ACT scores. It is an all-encompassing preparation of emotional and mental maturity as your child takes a big step in independence and responsibility. I offer counseling and coaching in the areas that will help your child feel more emotionally and mentally ready for college. Whether it’s learning to cope with stress or how to manage your time, I create a personalized program to meet their needs.
Prior to counseling, I spent eight years as an Academic Advisor and Career Coach at universities, including Texas A&M and Southern Methodist University. Through this experience, I developed a passion to support students by providing them with resources and skills to help them thrive academically and personally.
