Hi, I'm Katelyn Godsey! I'm a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate under the supervision of Dr. Tracy McClung PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S . I hold a Master's of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. More importantly, I'm a wife, mom, and lover of all furry creatures. In my free time, you can find me taking a run, binge-watching Netflix, or grabbing coffee with a friend.
I believe counseling is a journey of repairing wounds, addressing challenging parts of our stories, and learning about yourself and your strengths to become more of who you were meant to be. My sincere hope is to support individuals in unraveling their story and offer perspectives and insight that produce growth and transformation.
While my main focuses are supporting individuals with anxiety and depression, I find these often manifest as shame, self-criticism, perfectionism, pressure to please others, self-doubt, and insecurity. If you're curious to learn more about the counseling process, don't hesitate to reach out for a free consult. Even if I'm not your best fit, I want to make sure you get connected to the right care. You're not alone
I work with children as young as 8 up to 18 years old. My goal is to offer your child a therapy style that reflects their personality. I incorporate activities based off their interests to make sure the therapy room is a warm place for them to be, as well as a helpful place to process. My hope is to partner with parents to ensure your child's goals are being met.
Are you constantly feeling overwhelmed? Do you ever feel like you're not "enough", yet "too much" all at the same time? Trying to do it all, yet feeling so fragile simultaneously. Often women and moms are the last to prioritize their self-care and continue the burnout cycle. This is why I'm passionate about working with women. I know how much you give of yourself, and I hope therapy can be a place for you to refuel and re-engage with who you are.
Whether you have been together 6 months or 60 years, I believe all relationships can benefit from marriage counseling to learn more about one another, work through interpersonal conflicts, and improve your connection. I am certified in Prepare-Enrich, which is the premier relationship assessment tool and skill-building program used nationally and internationally.
